UNYC Scholarships Worth 4 Lakhs and 50 Thousand to the Students

UNYC Nepal has provided UNYC scholarships to 60 students. Out of 60 students, 10 students received Rs. 10,000 at the rate of 5 years for long term scholarships and 50 students short-term scholarships of Rs 7,000 per head has been provided. UNYC Nepal has been providing UNYC Scholarships every year for the education of talented, extremely poor and orphaned children. From this year, the provision of long-term scholarship is added.
Certificates of appreciation have also been given to the students of Shree Janachetana Secondary School, Mangalpur, Amar Shahid Dasharath Chand Secondary School, Rajapur and Shree Ekpriya Rathor Secondary School, respectively. Similarly, letters of appreciation were given to all the blood donors through Krishna Tharu, a member of the Nepal Volunteer Blood Donor Society. Consolation prizes was provided at the rate of Rs. 5000 to the three cultural groups in the program.
The chief guest of the program was former Minister for Land Reforms and Management and Patron of UNYC Nepal, Dr. Gopal Dahit said that even though the scholarship amount was small, it would play an important role in educating the very poor and orphaned children. He said that now is the time and generation of education. Independency cannot be created without education. He said that discipline, diligence, hard work and patience are needed for education. Scholarship recipients are urged to take on the responsibility of providing scholarships to students from very poor families after completing their higher education.
Concluding the program, Prim Bahadur Tharu, President of UNYC Nepal, said that UNYC Nepal has been investing in education so that the financial problems of the community school students do not hinder their education and provide more incentives to the deserving students.
Representing the Head Teachers Shyam Bahadur Tharu, Principal of Nepal Rastriya Secondary School and School Management Committee of Bheri Secondary School Chairperson Ram Prasad Dhungana had expressed his best wishes. The program was hosted by Som Demandaura, Program Officer of UNYC Nepal. Students of Nepal Rastriya Secondary School performed a welcome dance in the program.
