Coordination meeting with local government was conducted on 11 Dec 2023. UNYC Nepal has been going to implement the Surakshit Aaawash Project in Chamakpur and Fulbari Tole of Rajapur-5 and 8 respectively in collaboration of Habitat Nepal and Rajapur Municipality, Bardiya. There are going to build 23 safe houses for the Freedkamaiya. Among them, 10 houses will be built in Chamakpur and 13 houses will be build in Fulbari. Office of the Rajapur Municipality is contributing 350,000 per house (a total of NRs. 8,050,000 for 23 Houses) and Habitat is contributing 200,000 per house (a total of NRs. 460,000 for 23 houses). Beside house construction budget, Habitat Nepal will contribute for gear and equipment, capacity building, training, workshop and staffing. UNYC Nepal is implementing partner and will also contribute ICS, plantation and income generation activities.
There was participation of Mayor Dipesh Tharu, Deputy Mayor Mankala Kumari Tharu, and Chief Administrative Officer Mahendra Jung Shahi, Ward Presidents Ramesh Chaudhary and Rajesh Tharu, Program Coordinator Ram Mani Chaudhary and Er. Anuj Raj Joshi, Program Coordinator from Habitat Nepal, Technical persons from Municipality and staffs from UNYC Nepal. Program Coordinator Som Prasad Chaudhary has facilitated the Coordination Meeting.
In the meeting, there was discussed on project agreement, implementation methodologies, and regular monitoring of the project.
