DRR Management Equipment and Resource Support-1 (21 Aug 2024)

DRR Management Equipment and Resources have been supported to Rajapur Municipality under Surakshit Aawash Project. In Rajapur there are many types of disasters, such as flood, fire, drought, thunder, snakebite etc. The main disaster for Rajapur municipality is flood.  Many households are affected by floods every year. Floods cause a lot of property damage. But in order to avoid it, there is a lack of public awareness among the people here, lack of workers who work in flood, and lack of materials that can be reduced in flood.

Looking at this, with the financial support of Habitat Nepal, UNYC Nepal supported the management equipment. The equipment are supported to 26 Community Disaster Management Committees (CDMC) in Rajapur municipality. There have been supported with  26 light jackets, 26 hand mics and 26 torch lights. The equipment are handed over by Mr. Prim Bahadur Tharu, Executive Chairman of UNYC Nepal.
