UNYC Nepal has distributed high value fruit trees in Freed Kamaiya Families in Bardiya on June 21, 2024. The organization has supported 2 plants of Litchi, 2 plants of Amarpali Mango, 1 plant of Daseri Mango, 1 Plant of Taiwan Gauva and 1 plant of 1 kg Guava for each household. There are 13 households in Chamakpur and 17 households in Fulbari of ward no. 5 and 8 respectively.
Program Coordinator of UNYC Nepal said- “The major objectives of fruit plant distribution are, 1st consume fruits to be healthy, 2nd to generate income selling the fruits and make livelihood better, 3rd make the village green so that it would help to maintain climate improvement and 4th is making culture of planting fruits in each house.
Prim Bahadur Tharu, Executive Chairperson of UNYC Nepal delivered his greetings to community people towards protecting the environment, promoting good health and income generation through fruit trees plantation.
Fruit plants are supported to the community people under Surakshit Aawash Project. The project has been implementing by UNYC Nepal in financial and technical support of Habitat Nepal and Rajapur Municipality.
