Pilot climate smart village establishment
Under Surakshit Aawsh Project UNYC Nepal have installed 38 Improved Cooing Stoves (ICS). ICS consumes less firewood and also produces less smoke. This throws smoke outside of kitchen. Therefore, it is safe for health. Specially, it protects the health of pregnant women.
Shantipur is near Budhi Khola and in low area. The water is not clean and safe. Therefore, 67 bio-sand filters have been supported in the community. Now, the community people have got safe water for drinking. Similarly, the houses are being supported with fire extinguishers to be safe from fire. These three houses are very congested due to lack of land.
